The Role:

Fresh People are recruiting for a Technical Manager for a Fresh Produce Operation based near Maidstone in Kent. In this role as the Customer Technical Manager you will be the primary technical liaison between the production operations and retail customers.

Job Summary:

This role ensures that all technical aspects meet the standards and expectations of their retail partners. The successful candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to manage and resolve technical issues effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for all technical inquiries from retail customers, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure that berry products meet or exceed quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Maintain and communicate comprehensive knowledge of the clients products.
  • Address and resolve any technical issues or complaints from retailers, coordinating with internal teams to implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Provide technical support and training to retail customers, helping them understand and optimize the handling and display of our products.
  • Ensure that all products comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Prepare and present technical reports and updates to both internal teams and retail partners, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with R&D and production teams to identify and implement process improvements that enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct visits to retail sites

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a technical role within the Fresh Produce industry
  • Strong understanding of technical control and its practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with retail partners.
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
