The Role – Planning & Stocks Manager

Fresh People are currently recruiting for a Planning and Stocks Manager for our client a Fresh Produce business based around the Sittingbourne & Maidstone location ideally . In this role you will control production planning processes ,complete and deliver scheduling of all products & production lines, manage a team of planners, production and stock administrators to ensure accurate completion of all requirements in the business

The Person

Ideally have previously worked in a Stocks and Planning Management role within Fresh Produce , Food Manufacturing or FMCG with a firm understanding of how to manage a team to ensure delivery all planning requirements within the operations whilst ensuring availability of stocks to fulfil customer work orders in line with SLA’s. Must have excellent written and spoken English with excellent communication skills with attention to detail and ability to work as part of a team

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a multi-shift, multi-function team ensuring adequate shift coverage driving continuous skill development within team. Ensure that the team deliver the following on a daily basis.
  • Accurately control and complete production related paperwork across all production lines, and stock movement documentation
  • Liaise with Sales team and to ensure all orders are captured and all jobs are set up conforming to plan
  • Ensure regular Plan Status updates to Production Management Teams
  • To review/reconcile the work order stock information to increase the accuracy of stock, closing works orders by end of each production shift
  • Actively liaise with colleagues on a day to day basis on matters relating to stock, work orders, stock errors etc., to allow for decisions to be made “real-time” which will increase the accuracy of stock usage information.
  • To review/reconcile the ERP system work order documentation and investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Ensure that all practices and procedures are carried out in accordance with Company Policy and Health & Safety guidelines.
  • Create a rolling 7 day forecast in ERP using Scheduler tools and customer forecasts / insight
  • Ensure a refined / final production plan is in place for following day, taking internal and external factors into account
  • Work and communicate with customers to enable stock arrivals / quality issues / job types to be built into the production plan
  • Provide full communication to the business around volume planning / actuals and ensure understanding of impacts to the plan
  • Responsible to ensure key master data tables in ERP are up to date and reviewed on a weekly basis, as appropriate
  • Manage the accurate and timely creation of new products within ISS
  • Manage key system admin functions relating to works order and sales order synching and owning the resolution of issues arising
  • Report on key performance metrics for shift performance, using a range of system and MS based tools
