Multi-Skilled Engineer
Fresh People are recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Engineer for a well-established fresh produce business based in the Tonbridge area of Kent.
This is a permanent, Monday to Friday engineering position offering a salary of £50,000–£55,000 depending on experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across a busy fresh produce operation, helping to maintain machinery, equipment and site reliability.
The Role
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults across site machinery and equipment
- Support the reliability and performance of production and packing equipment
- Complete electrical maintenance and repair work in line with current regulations
- Carry out mechanical repairs including motors, bearings, pumps, drives and associated equipment
- Identify recurring faults and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Work closely with production and operational teams to minimise downtime
- Ensure all engineering work is completed safely and efficiently
- Maintain accurate maintenance and engineering records
- Support wider site engineering and maintenance requirements as required
The Person
- Previous engineering experience within the fresh produce industry is essential
- Experience working as a Multi-Skilled Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or similar
- Strong electrical and mechanical engineering knowledge
- Professional qualifications in electrical and/or mechanical engineering
- 18th Edition electrical qualification is essential
- Confident fault finding across both electrical and mechanical systems
- Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance in a fast-paced production environment
- Able to work independently and take ownership of engineering issues
- Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach
Hours
Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
