Health & Safety Adviser
Kent | Multi-Site
Competitive Salary DOE + Benefits
Permanent | Full Time
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health & Safety Adviser to join a successful and fast-paced business operating across multiple sites in Kent.
Working closely with operational teams and senior management, you will provide practical, hands-on Health & Safety support across the business, helping to maintain high standards of compliance while continuing to develop a positive and proactive safety culture.
This is a highly visible role suited to someone who enjoys being out within the operation, engaging with employees and managers and driving continuous improvement rather than simply managing H&S from behind a desk.
The Role
As Health & Safety Adviser, you will:
- Provide day-to-day Health & Safety advice and guidance across multiple operational sites
- Support managers in maintaining compliance with current UK Health & Safety legislation
- Carry out site inspections, audits and risk assessments
- Review and develop safe systems of work and H&S procedures
- Support accident, incident and near-miss investigations, identifying root causes and corrective actions
- Monitor H&S performance and identify areas for improvement
- Support the completion and review of COSHH assessments
- Deliver H&S briefings, toolbox talks and training where required
- Work closely with operational teams to ensure Health & Safety is embedded into everyday working practices
- Maintain accurate H&S documentation, records and reporting
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the sites
- Promote a positive safety culture and encourage employee engagement at all levels
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience within a Health & Safety Adviser, Coordinator or similar role
- Holds a recognised Health & Safety qualification such as NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
- Has a good working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation
- Is confident completing risk assessments, audits and incident investigations
- Has experience within a fast-paced operational environment
- Ideally comes from fresh produce, food manufacturing, FMCG, warehousing, distribution or a similar environment
- Is practical, approachable and comfortable working directly with operational teams
- Can confidently challenge unsafe practices while building strong working relationships
- Is organised and able to manage Health & Safety requirements across multiple locations
- Holds a full UK driving licence and is comfortable travelling between sites
What’s on Offer
This is an opportunity to join an established and growing business where Health & Safety is an important part of the operational agenda.
The role offers plenty of variety and autonomy, with the opportunity to work closely with operational leaders and make a genuine impact on safety standards and culture across the business.
If you are an experienced Health & Safety professional looking for a hands-on, multi-site position within a fast-moving operational environment, we would be keen to hear from you.
