Location: Canterbury (Kent) + London travel


The Opportunity

We are partnering with a high-growth, private equity-backed professional services firm entering an exciting phase of expansion across the South East and London.

With a clear growth strategy focused on both organic development and acquisition, the business is now looking to appoint a Head of Business Development & Marketing to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering its commercial agenda.

This is a rare opportunity to build and lead a BD function within a scaling, ambitious environment where you will have real influence at leadership level and a direct impact on revenue growth.


The Role

As Head of Business Development & Marketing, you will take ownership of the firm’s growth strategy—driving pipeline, strengthening market presence, and embedding a high-performance BD culture across the business.

You will work closely with senior leadership and Partners to deliver measurable commercial outcomes while elevating brand positioning in a competitive professional services market.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver a firm-wide BD and marketing strategy aligned to growth targets
  • Drive new business opportunities across audit, tax, advisory, and outsourced services
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to build pipeline and maximise cross-selling opportunities
  • Lead and develop a high-performing BD and marketing function
  • Oversee brand, campaigns, digital marketing, and thought leadership initiatives
  • Support major bids, tenders, and client pitches
  • Implement CRM and data-led approaches to track pipeline and ROI
  • Strengthen client engagement, retention, and experience strategies
  • Support growth initiatives including acquisitions and market expansion

About You

  • Proven experience in a senior Business Development and/or Marketing leadership role
  • Background within professional services (accountancy, legal, consultancy or similar)
  • Strong track record of delivering revenue growth and building BD capability
  • Experience working within partner-led or stakeholder-heavy environments
  • Commercially astute with the ability to translate strategy into results
  • Confident influencing at senior leadership and C-suite level
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to operate both strategically and operationally
