We are currently recruiting for a Sourcing Assistant to join a leading fresh produce business based in Dartford, Kent. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience across sourcing, procurement, supply chain, inventory, logistics or administration who is looking to develop their career within a fast-paced, international fresh produce environment.

The role will support the sourcing and inbound supply chain function, working closely with sourcing, supply chain, warehouse, QC, sales, finance, suppliers and service providers to ensure smooth product flow from origin through to customer. The position will involve a mix of operational, administrative and analytical support across sourcing plans, supplier forecasts, purchase orders, inventory records, inbound logistics and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of sourcing plans in line with customer demand and supply availability
  • Maintain and update sourcing plans, supplier forecasts and inventory records
  • Assist with inventory ordering, purchase order creation and receipt processing within ERP systems
  • Track vessel movements, delivery schedules and any transit or logistical challenges
  • Coordinate inbound logistics activity including containers, transport, documentation and customs clearance
  • Maintain accurate sourcing, logistics and supplier documentation
  • Communicate weekly product programmes, volume changes and delivery requirements to growers and suppliers
  • Work closely with warehouse and QC teams to support forecasting, stock arrivals and safe product storage
  • Support reporting and data analysis relating to supply, inventory and performance
  • Assist with supplier performance monitoring and feedback
  • Provide administrative support for sourcing meetings, planning sessions and reviews
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across sourcing and supply chain processes

Candidate Requirements

  • Some experience within sourcing, supply chain, procurement, logistics, inventory management or a similar administrative role
  • Experience within fresh produce, food, perishables or FMCG would be advantageous
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Good Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience using ERP or stock management systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP or Freshware would be desirable
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on data accuracy
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work collaboratively across departments and with external suppliers
  • Proactive, flexible and positive approach with a willingness to learn and develop
