Fresh People are currently recruiting for a Procurement Coordinator to join a well-established and growing fresh produce business based in Maidstone. Operating within a fast-paced, short shelf-life supply chain, this business supplies some of the UK’s leading retailers and continues to expand its sourcing and supply network.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic Procurement team, supporting the end-to-end supply chain from grower through to customer, ensuring product availability, accurate stock management, and smooth operational delivery.
The Role
Reporting into the Procurement Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day procurement and supply chain operations. You will work closely with Commercial, Logistics, Technical, Finance, and Packhouse teams, helping to coordinate supply, manage data, and maintain strong supplier relationships.
This is a highly collaborative role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-moving environment where attention to detail and organisation are key.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Commercial Managers in the day-to-day running of an effective fresh produce supply chain
- Raise and manage purchase orders within the Prophet ERP system
- Build and maintain supplier load plans, adjusting orders to maximise service levels
- Liaise with growers and suppliers to confirm volumes, arrival dates, and product specifications
- Work closely with Planning and Logistics teams to maintain accurate stock positions
- Maintain and update arrival data, supporting reporting and seasonal reviews
- Produce weekly pricing and costing models, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Assist with grower reconciliations, returns, and invoice processing
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across Procurement and Supply Chain processes
- Participate in a weekend rota, supporting operational communication across teams
About You
- Experience within fresh produce, food, or short shelf-life FMCG environments
- Previous experience in procurement, supply chain, planning, or coordination roles
- Confident working with suppliers, growers, and internal teams
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable working with data, systems, and Excel
- Able to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
