As Commercial Manager, you will take ownership of key retail accounts, leading the strategic direction, commercial performance, and category vision for your areas of responsibility. You will play a pivotal role in shaping product strategy, driving sales and margin growth, and ensuring exceptional service delivery across the supply chain.
The successful candidate will have proven experience within the Fresh Produce industry and a track record of managing retailer relationships at a commercial or category management level.Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic and commercial management of key retail accounts.
- Develop and deliver category plans that align with customer goals and market trends.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with retail commercial, supply chain, and technical teams.
- Drive product development and range optimisation to maximise growth opportunities.
- Monitor performance through market insight, consumer trends, and competitor analysis to shape a data-led commercial strategy.
- Manage promotional planning to ensure flawless execution and maximised sales impact.
- Proactively identify supply chain efficiencies, cost-saving opportunities, and quality improvements.
- Maintain accurate account and product data across internal systems.
- Collaborate with internal teams and packing partners to ensure service excellence and product availability.
- Provide timely and accurate forecasts for weekly, monthly, and long-term planning.
- Lead regular customer review meetings and ensure all actions are followed through.
- Produce commercial reports including sales, margin, pricing, and market intelligence.
About You
- Experience within Fresh Produce is essential – applications without this will not be considered.
- Strong account or category management background, ideally working with major UK retailers.
- Highly organised with a project-led mindset and the ability to prioritise effectively.
- A confident communicator who can lead conversations with credibility and influence multiple stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with large data sets and produce accurate forecasting and reporting.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the resilience to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong Excel capability.
