The Role -Technical Assistant

Fresh People are currently recruiting for a Technical Assistant for our client a Fresh Produce business based in both Sittingbourne & Maidstone offices in Kent . In this role you will support the Customer Facing Technical Managers deliver continual quality improvement and produce performance reports and compliance summaries in support of the key account management for products supplied . Providing weekly KPI summaries of quality to the commercial and technical teams in support of the operation

The Candidate

Suitable candidates will have worked previously as an Assistant in Fresh Produce previously within Technical , Quality or Compliance , must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written with a good understanding of the environment , Microsoft office with an ability to think outside the box working closely with Technical, Procurement and other key departments across the business

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce performance reports for customers and suppliers to be reviewed in weekly technical meeting and shared with internal stakeholders– to include Supplier Scorecards/ presentations at end of season, Grower Performance reviews and weekly complaint summaries.
  • Support on the weekly comp shop, uploading information on to master sheet for all supermarkets, checking accuracy and then send out spreadsheet to the internal business and relevant customers. Develop and manage a weekly comp shop summary report, highlighting key changes/standouts.
  • Run weekly benchmarking of our clients customer product vs competitor. Update reports and share with internal stakeholders.
  • Collate presentations ahead of customer weekly meetings with the support of the relevant TMs.
  • Manage the production of samples for all customers and arrange appropriate transportation for their delivery.
  • Provide a weekly KPI summary of quality (to include incoming, shelf life, wastage and customer complaints) for the commercial and technical team.
  • Arrange residue and micro samples to be tested and follow up results. Maintain a record of samples sent for testing and process invoices and challenge any errors.
  • Manage specifications on customer platforms
  • Follow up on customer complaints. Trending the complaints and requesting further detail/ challenging where appropriate.
  • Assist the Customer facing Technical managers in any trial work or projects as required, towards delivering industry leading innovation and continual quality improvement.
  • Support on customers visit as required.
  • Work to support the implementation and development of Business Objects/ Power BI.
