Location: Bristol-based (with regular travel to Cardiff and Southampton)
The Role
Fresh People are seeking a Regional Finance Partner for a Fresh Produce Global Leader based in the South West , based from home managing 3 sites located in Bristol along with regular travel to Cardiff and Southampton . As the Regional Finance Manager, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the companies financial goals across the region within the Wholesale Markets.
The Person
CIMA or ACCA qualified accountant with experience in multi-site FMCG manufacturing or from Fresh Produce or a Food Wholesale operation. In this role, you’ll be pivotal in ensuring strong financial performance is maintained, aligning operational goals with strategic financial insights.Must be a strong communicator, skilled at building relationships across business levels. Available to visit all 3 locations weekly , with an overnight stay potentially offered in Southampton due to distance from Bristol if required, driving time is classed as working time.
The Role Requirements
- Act as a trusted advisor to Branch Managers and Regional Directors, providing financial insights, analysis, and guidance to enhance decision-making.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities within the region, helping the business meet financial targets.
- Prepare and deliver monthly and quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, and performance reports.
- Conduct detailed variance analysis to highlight discrepancies between actuals and forecasts/budgets, providing insights to drive performance improvements.
- Compile and present Monthly Review Packs, participating in monthly branch review meetings to discuss financial health and action items.
- Analyse and monitor product margins, identifying areas for improvement to enhance profitability.
- Collaborate with branch managers to review consignment reconciliation and optimize margin performance.
- Track and analyse costs and related KPIs to ensure efficient cost management
- Ensure compliance with SOX internal control frameworks,
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors
- Benchmark performance across various sites within the region, identifying best practices and sharing insights with other locations to drive regional consistency.
- Attend monthly stock takes to ensure inventory accuracy and manage reconciliations.
- Challenge and refine budget and forecast assumptions, providing a critical review of KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
- Implement process improvements and help change behaviours through compelling analysis and close collaboration with non-finance teams.
