Procurement Manager
At Fresh people we are currently recruiting for a Procurement Manager for our client a Fresh Produce Operation at their Food Service distribution business based in Leicester . With a strong background in Procurement and Fresh Produce or FMCG you will be responsible for sourcing predominantly fruit and vegetables , dairy and some dry goods with other buyers in the group from local growers and suppliers and UK Import agents for distribution from the depot.
The Person
Suitable candidates must have previous Procurement , Buying or Commercial Trading Insight along with experience in Fresh Produce, Dairy or FMCG to be considered for this role. Profit orientated and cost conscious you will be responsible for the day to day buying for the facility with the ability to negotiate better pricing models with a good working knowledge of the market sector , competitor activity and product lines experienced in developing and exceeding targets with the ability to manipulate the data . Self-Motivated , confident an outgoing professional
Duties:
- Ensure profitable, high quality procurement across a full range of Fresh Produce, Dairy, Frozen and Dry Goods
- Maintain up to date knowledge of the market sector trends, competitor activity and product lines
- Coordinate procurement in line with sales requirements and stock functions in a fast paced Just In Time environment
- Working with various reports and analysis to improve the commercials of the business
- Work with Operational and Admin staff to ensure accurate stock management
- Support Sales and Customer Service with product knowledge, sourcing and commercial support
- Ensure all tasks, processes and operations are carried out in a healthy, safe and environmentally acceptable manner, complying with all internal procedures and external standards and legislation
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act, Risk assessments, Pest control and Food Safety standards
- Support the site to maintain its BRC accreditation
