Intake QC Manager
Fresh People are currently looking to recruit an Intake QC Manager for our client a Fresh Produce Service Provider based near Sittingbourne Kent. The purpose of this role is to lead the intake quality team. You will be required to ensure all product arriving on site is checked against customer requirements and reported accurately.
The Candidate
Suitable candidates must have worked previously as a QC/Quality Manager or a similar role for a minimum of 5 years and have Fresh Produce working Knowledge or have worked within a packhouse environment. Experience of managing a team and supporting and developing direct reports is essential. A Food Safety qualification would be advantageous.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all aspects of product quality, where customer specifications are being compromised are effectively communicated to the Production & QA Manager’s on a timely basis. Providing recommendations as to the action required.
- Provide effective written communication to the business with clear instructions on when and how to use the product to minimise any loss.
- Take an active involvement in decision making during the daily production meeting.
- Provide cover to the QA teams for all aspects of their job as necessary.
- Assist in the preparation of samples as required.
- Provide regular and on-going feedback to customers on incoming quality to allow continuous improvement.
- Liaise and communicate on a day to day quality issues with Production
- Communicate with the customers Technical and quality teams daily quality issues.
- Ensure the customers required quality standards are efficiently and effectively maintained at all times
- Look for innovation and updates regarding equipment used for quality inspections.
- Continuously look for ways to improve the business processes within department
- Ensure that resource planning is managed effectively allowing the business to operate in an efficient manner, but also in the most cost-effective way ensuring costs are maintained within budget.
